The conceptual blueprint for the IWC Ingenieur was a precision time piece fit for the man of action; capable of withstanding not just the elements but also magnetic fields, electric shocks and water pressure.

IWC Ingenieur – Rugged precision in the style of the IWC

These qualities were brilliantly captured, with the IWC Ingenieur being one of the most modern, technologically advanced watches from the 1950s to the current era. IWC Watches

20 years into the life of IWC, the company was taken over by the Rauschenbach family who left an indelible mark of remarkable work ethic that continues to permeate through the company. Only a year after the Rauschenbachs acquired the company, the senior Rauschenbach passed on forcing his 25 year old son Johannes to take over the company. Despite this sudden change over, IWC kept maintained its impeccable industry record of unmatched quality.

IWC – Heritage of beautiful complexities.

As IWC kept advancing and occupying its space as industry pacesetter, its astounding work attracted some of the greatest talent in the watch making world, including Urs Haenggi who was a master watch maker, having honed his craft from France and French speaking Switzerland. Mr. Haenggi worked for IWC for over half a century, protecting the interests of the Rauschenbachs and the company’s stellar tradition all the while.

Johann Vogel was next on IWC’s star studded technicians’ roster. He is credited with the creation of the IWC’s calibres until 1919, cementing the company’s reputation as the custodians of exactitude since 1868. He was instrumental in overseeing the company’s advancement into the next phase of its promising future.

Resilience in the face of adversity-the mantra of IWC.

Right at the onset of the Second World War, IWC’s watch factory at Schaffhausen was mistakenly bombed by the American Airforce. Fortunately the bomb failed to detonate, but the factory still suffered major damage, including a fire that IWC promptly managed to put out. Soon after the war, most of Europe’s economy had been decimated and IWC had to change its sights as far as its business stakeholders were concerned. They had to look to the Americas, Australia and other parts of the world to stay in business. They did, and not only did they survive, but they thrived having cast their nets wider to bigger markets. It is this kind of quick thinking and agility that defines the IWC brand and is magnificently projected even in its final product, the IWC Schaffhausen watch.

Above and beyond ordinary – The creed of IWC

IWC continues to exceed the expectations of its customers over and over again with every watch that comes out of their production line. Looking at the IWC men’s watch list, one would be forgiven to think that they were reading an honorable list of glorious kings of the past. From the IWC Mark XVI to the IWC Mark XII, IWC timepieces continue to instill the unique look and feel of elite sophistication in their customers.

The same must be said about the IWC women’s watches as well. No effort has been spared in ensuring that the IWC woman is set apart from the rest, wearing on her wrist one of the finest, most authentic piece of horology ever made straight from the IWC Schaffhausen stable.

Whatever your tastes are, whatever the occasion may be, IWC has the perfect watch specially crafted to match it, and they keep getting better, proving themselves masters of the art over the centuries.
