Audermars Piguet Watches

The finest in Swiss luxury watches since 1875

Audemars Piguet Watches has continued to manufacture some of the most sought after luxury watches in the world. They have made a name for themselves as a company that makes some of the worlds thinnest watches, which means great mastery in the manufacture of some of the most complex, most efficient watch movements in the watchmaking world.

Audemars Piguet- The beginning in Le Brassus…

In 1875, childhood friends Jules-Louis Audemars together with his friend Edward-Auguste Piguet, after decades of separation, teamed up to form the Audemars Piguet brand, then known as Audemars Piguet $ Cie. This company continues to maintain its headquarters in Le Brassus, a village in the Vallee de Joux in Switzerland.

With both partners having a satisfactory background in watchmaking, their young company was off to a great start, their first major innovation coming about in 1892. They invented the first wristwatch with the minute repeater complication, a groundbreaking feat in horology at the time. Audemars had accumulated great experience in creating complex watch movements for other companies( including Tiffany’s), while Piguet was adept at regulating watch movements and ensuring that they ran smoothly. It is on these levels of specialization that they chose to split their areas of specialization in their new company.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak- The poster child of Audemars Piguet.

The Royal oak is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable watches from Audemars Piguet, and rightfully so given the sheer engineering mastery that has been put in creating a timepiece of such significant horological impact. Despite being introduced to the market close to half a century ago, this watch continues to enjoy persistent rock-star popularity among its owners and a similar degree of curiosity among the prospective buyers.

The marvel of this watch begins with the case. The general design of this watch is modeled against that of traditional diving helmets which had naked screws around the edge. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak features this same concept.  This watch also comes with an integrated bracelet which adds even more to its uniqueness.

The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph-Marking 20 years since the reign of the Royal Oak

To celebrate 20 years since the launch and success of the Royal Oak watch, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore was introduced. The new Royal Oak Offshore featured a much larger and sturdier 42mm case compared to the first release royal Oak which measured 39mm bezel to bezel. The Audemars Piguet offshore watch was introduced formally in 1993 and continues to enjoy remarkable traction in the market.

The Royal Oak Concept and the Audemars Piguet 15400- New kids on the block.

It seemed that the subsequent releases of the Royal Oak Collection watches deserved a celebration every decade or so. In 2002, to mark 30 years since the release of the original Royal Oak, the Royal Oak Concept was introduced. This watch featured a more futuristic look with an overall black theme. It has a relatively rough sandblasted titanium case with a black ceramic bezel, which still maintains the traditional diving helmet theme.

The Audemars Piguet 15400, on the other hand, is a retake on the original Royal Oak, this time coming in a 41mm case, still with the grand ‘tapisserie’ pattern conspicuous in the dial. It is simply a slight adjustment from the larger case Royal Oak. It also features a clear back and the buyer would have the option of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Rose gold which was launched in the same year.

The Royal Oak Skeleton- Not the kind in your closet.

This watch is for the best watch aficionados amongst us and true lovers of the craftsmanship that goes into producing such a masterpiece. The Royal Oak Skeleton enables you to have a full unobstructed view of the action inside the case of your watch. It features a 39mm standard case with glare-proofed sapphire crystal glass. It is an automatic self-winding watch with beautiful luminescent white gold hands powered by your wrists movements. It features also the caliber 3129 movements which assure of great performance, wherever you are, whenever you’re up and about!

Audemars Piguet Millenary- Contemporary design, timeless craftsmanship.

The Audemars Piguet Millenary collection was released in 1995. It was named so in honor of the coming third millennium which was only 5 years away from the year this collection was launched.  It features a unique design concept. The creators of this watch wanted to offer to the wearer a three-dimensional view of the workings of the watch with their unique lug design which reinforces this design concept.

The Millenary women’s watch features also Audemars Piguet diamonds around the bezel, which not only adds to the flair of the watch but also gives a reassuring hobnail texture to it. The dial too features the all too beautiful Geneva stripes which provide a wonderful finish to a well-crafted piece of horological history. The balance wheel is clearly pushed a bit to the left, the time telling dial a bit to the right and makes for an absolutely dazzling statement piece.

From the side, the wearer can have a great view of the beautiful dome-shaped sapphire crystal which adds a welcome air of mystery to the already ‘naked’ watch. Browse our extensive collection of Audemars Piguet watches from the Millenary series at the best Audemars Piguet Watches prices and more!

The code 11.59 collection has been dubbed ‘the biggest launch by Audemars Piguet since ’72,’ when the Royal Oak was first launched. This collection most perfectly captures what the future hold for Audemars Piguet Watches. It captures the history of the brand, by featuring design elements fro some of its most iconic series names such as the Royal Oak and the Offshore, but it also introduces completely new design elements that bring out the adventurous side of Audemars Piguet.

They are billed as ‘watches for everyone’ and sit pretty at the wrist with a sturdy 41mm case. The lug design looks somewhat similar to an archaic suspension bridge and one would be forgiven to think that this was the inspiration behind this impressive design.

The Audemars Piguet Watch – a family heritage of fine craftsmanship.

Since the company’s inception in 1975, Audemars Piguet Watches has maintained a strong family leadership at its helm throughout its existence. The second generation company leaders were the children of the original founders Paul Louis Audemars and Paul Edward Piguet. The third was Jacques Louis Audemars and Paulette Piguet. These scions of their families have continued to uphold the quality and value that had been put in place by their fathers and have ensured that they persist long enough to be enjoyed in our generation.

The fourth generation leaders Jasmine Audemars and Olivier Frank Edward Audemars both hail from the Audemars family, but the Piguets continue to work in close collaboration, ensuring that the vision of the company is carried out as was intended.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak- The crown jewel.

The Royal Oak from Audemars Piguet is with no doubt one of the most recognizable watches from the Audemars Piguet stable. Launched 47 years ago, the Royal Oak endures in its enjoyment of critically acclaimed status almost half a century after its inception. This luxury sports wristwatch was the first of its kind in the world and still continues to be Audemars Piguet’s flagship wristwatch. The Audemars Piguet price for this collection continued to communicate its value to prospective buyers.

Also included in its list of notable inventions is the Grand Complication pocket watch launched in 1899 with 7 complications, including a perpetual calendar, minute repeater, grand, and small strike and alarm. In 1934, they invented the world’s first skeleton watch, which enabled the wearer to clearly see the inner workings of the watch. This especially drew a lot of attention their way and got many people interested in haute horology and the appreciation of fine watches.

To break the rules you must first master them.

Audemars Piguet lives up to a thought-provoking motto that has described their ascent to the summit of the watchmaking world over the years, ‘to break the rules you must first master them. In 1986, they created the world’s first ultra-thin automatic tourbillon wristwatch which had a thickness of only 5.3mm including the case.

This meant that first, they had to perfect the art of creating and regulating great working movements to ensure that the watch runs beautifully, then they had to ‘miniaturize’ the movement to arrive at a total of 5.3mm, still with the complications performing as they should. For this task, they picked on the caliber 2870.

The Audemars Piguet Woman- elegance on a wrist.

With a knack for beautiful sleek designs, the Audemars Piguet women’s watch has achieved the near pinnacle of sheer elegance and style. The Audemars Piguet women’s watch sits beautifully on the wrist and proceeds to draw attention while packing a powerful punch in the performance and exactitude department. This striking balance of beauty and brute performance could not be embodied any better than in the person of Serena Williams, who is also the brand’s ambassador.
